January
As for New years Resolutions it is just a list that I think we do to say we have one. It is an intent a plan but with very little commitment. This year I want to make promises. To myself - to others - I want to be held accountable - I need partners in this because nothing can be done without the help of others. NO matter how many times you say "I can do this myself" you NEVER have and never will. Someone gave you the directions, someone created that drive in you, someone helped you learn everything you know. THERE is no one out there that is a "self made man(woman)" God has lead so many people in my life and I know He has lead me in the lives of so many people. God sends encouragement when I think there is no hope, He sends love to me and those I love when we feel the world against us, He sends laughter when all I feel is pain, He sends comfort when my heart is breaking, and He sends His love when all others have failed me. Sometimes I wonder where He is when I hurt so bad and cry out why me - and I look and see Him beside me in little things around me and I know I let go not Him. My "resolution" is to hold on tighter this year! ( or that is my intent!)
NOW on with the new year!! as I stated last year here is our plans and places to go to get encouragement and tools to get started!

Wow a month since I posted!
ARYA is here!
Anya's birth was quite an experience. People have so many different views ideas and convictions that were all so new to us. Being our first grandchild that we were at the birth of, and prayfully get to see mature slowly instead of coming back and they in college, almost in college or getting ready for college, we were and are excited. We did not know what to expect. We are old fashion in so many ways that some things that happened seemed odd and out of place for us. So I guess in some ways I seemed stiff and unfriendly. Didn't mean to be but David and I did wait with Greg 25 hours in chairs and stupid me without insulin and my other meds. I guess being in your 60's we have a lot to learn about families still. My mother was with me with all my births and so that was what I expected. But to see the look and excitement on Shane's face for being there was FANTASTIC. I would not have traded that for all the world! He is a wonderful father to our lil Jonathan and now Arya. Beth could not have chosen a better person to walk this earth with.. kind, forgiving and patient with her silly old fashion parents. We could really tell the generation gap between parents LOL we were more in the world of his grandmother. Shane's dad, Greg, was an absolutely kind, thoughtful, and understanding person!
Welcome Arya!

I have been so busy remodeling and waiting on a grandchild. So much has happened!
Our new kitchen declutter looks like this
We are going to finish the cabinets this week and add 7 to the once dining room but now VERY large pantry and coffee room. Actually we go today for that and start. I have cleaned most of the stuff out of the room (that was totally over crowded with can goods) and ready for the transformation. We are moving the island into that room and the table into the kitchen nook where it belongs. We are getting sheetrock mud to cover the terrible red in the kitchen and next week paint goes on. It is going slow on the inside cause we doing it. (well estimated 6 months for a new kitchen we doing it ourselves much shorter time and without loss of kitchen) We will be also replacing the old trash compactor (still works BTW) with another cabinet with drawer peice.
My couponing is getting to the point where I hate to shop without one. Even our cabinets are being used on sale (20% off) and my Lowes card ( 5% off) so the most expensive cabinet was reduced to only $89.00 each for a 36'x30! on my BIG shopping I save at least $100.00 each time. OH yea we are also getting a freezer so I know whats in there!
ok that is it for the Day - David has Men's conference this weekend, Damien decided not to go this time. Next month we have Winter fest in Columbia (or was it Charleston) we are going to and in June I have a Beth Moore conference I am going to. Zennie is going with me this year to the last WOF conference in NC this time instead of CT. SO this year with God's grace, prayers and love we will be finished with the house!
Love you all

So another month has come and gone. I can hardly believe it. We went today and picked up the items and wood we need to begin our Square foot gardening. I will be showing you pics as we good along Damien plowed the old garden under - we will be using lots of lime to remove the acid from all the pine trees... then they will be building the beds 2"x10"x4' and then fill them with soil.
I have decided and picked up my chairs and tonight my table which I am going to make!
I will be posting pics as I make it!
Tired and hungry later!

So here it is Saturday and it seems like another busy one. I have already been up and worked on Facebook talking to my girls, went outside watered my garden (herb and flowers) cut down two bushes that was blocking the water sprinklers from getting to the side they needed and new trees, finished all my wedding projects ready to be loaded into the car (david's) and took this video for you. Well and the usual cup of coffee, feeding pets, etc. I will be back later I promise! Could not get it to work so I am adding this to me page

So another month has come and gone. I can hardly believe it. It went so fast I did not even update this whole month! We have been so very busy getting the yard finished and garden in. Let me post a few happenings in April!
I promise to be better in April
I have been sitting outside listening to the fountains, the birds and our garden grow =) God has blessed us so very much and has allowed us to help others. I think t hat is what He wants from us at this point in our lives. To help others. To be a light for them - that scares me sometimes cause I fail so much! I can only pray that God's grace will allow them to know as Christians we still are not perfect.
